Knowledge before the next step

Understand the investment. Own the decision.

Mutual funds pool money from investors and invest in assets such as shares or bonds. The value can rise or fall with the underlying investments. Different funds have different objectives and risks. SEBI: understanding investment assets

A regular step, on your terms.

A systematic investment plan is a way to invest a chosen amount at regular intervals. It is a contribution method, not a separate asset class.

A regular investment schedule does not remove market risk or assure a profit.

Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme-related documents carefully.

Understand the calculation and assumptions

Monthly SIP: M × ((1 + i)^m − 1) / i × (1 + i), plus the initial investment × (1 + i)^m. M is your monthly contribution, i is the annual rate divided by 12, and m is total months. Contributions occur at the beginning of each month. Assumes a constant return without taxes, fees or missed contributions. Market returns can be negative; this model explores non-negative return assumptions.

All inputs are user-provided assumptions. Displayed rupee amounts are rounded to whole rupees; these are projections, not guaranteed outcomes.

What is a mutual fund?

A mutual fund pools money from investors to invest in a portfolio of assets. Its value depends on the underlying investments and can go up or down.

What is a SIP?

A SIP, or systematic investment plan, is a way to make regular contributions to an investment. It does not guarantee returns or eliminate market risk.

Can mutual fund investments lose value?

Yes. Mutual funds are subject to market and other risks. Read the scheme documents, Riskometer and terms, and consider your circumstances before investing.

Does a SIP guarantee a profit?

No. A SIP is a contribution method. The fund remains subject to market risk, and the value of your investment can fall.

What costs should I understand?

Read the scheme documents for the expense ratio, any exit load, and applicable taxes. Costs and tax treatment can affect what you receive.

How do I choose a time horizon?

Start with when you may need the money, your circumstances and your comfort with changes in value. A calculator does not assess suitability or recommend a fund.

How does the SIP calculator estimate returns?

It assumes a constant annual return divided into monthly growth, with contributions at the beginning of each month. Actual markets do not follow a constant return, and tax, fees and withdrawals are excluded.

Can I invest through this website?

This website provides educational information and illustrative calculators. It does not accept investments or list verified available funds. Product availability will be shared when confirmed.
